2024 marks the 10th Anniversary of Waterloo On The Grand! Oh my how we've grown ... Happy Anniversary Chapter Members!

Big Congrats to our members who have new jobs, preparing for graduation, nailed those first solos, and earned licences

and ratings!! You rock!!

Thank you to Chapter members and WWFC Instructors Alysha and Tiffany for hosting a Study Session at the Flight Centre on March 28th.

On February 25, 2024 we held our Annual General Meeting. Interim Chair, Ashley, was voted in as the permanent Chair of WOTG ... Congratulations Ashley! Chapter members had the incredible opportunity to meet and talk with 99s Life-Time Member Judith Anne Johnson who shared amazing tales of her personal and aviation stories - can we take a moment to think about flying in heels! We also had a super interesting and fun tour of the YKF Control Tower. Thank you to Supervisor/Unit Operations Specialist Melissa Swain and her team for sharing your time and answering our many questions!

YYZ Area Control and Tower Tour! WOW! Members of the Chapter enjoyed an incredible tour on January 20, 2024. We are very thankful to Natalie of NAV Canada for arranging the tour, to Martin of NAV Canada for hosting, and to the NAV Canada controllers for spending time with us and indulging our excitement!

2023 Activities:

Holiday Hootenanny! It was great connecting with Chapter members before the busy holiday season on December 10 - so many snacks... of course!

November 2 ... Who's In The Chapter - what a fun evening we had where we played interactive games to get to know

each other better! Such an awesome and fun group of ladies!

We had another very successful Meet & Greet at WWFC on September 25th! Thank you all who were able to attend and

participate, with a very special thank you to Chapter Members Heather, Contessa and Barbara for speaking to the group.

The Meet & Greet has become an important event to the Chapter and the Executive appreciates all those who are able to

help with the set-up and tear-down for the event - we see you and appreciate you!

Several of our dedicated members attended the Brantford Air Show on August 30, 2023 to represent the Chapter!

August 21 - AVMET from NAV Canada. Thank you to Sophie of NAV Canada for discussing all things aviation meteorology and upcoming changes to AVMET reference website.

Thank you Waterloo Warbirds! On July 31, 2023 Chapter Members enjoyed a tour of the Waterloo Warbirds and then

headed over to Sweet Carolines on Victoria Street for some delicious treats on a warm summer evening.

Thank you to Chapter Member Dr. Katie for hosting a field trip to the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics on June 29, 2023

Celebration!! Chapter Member and past Chapter Chair Erica was recognized and awarded an Achievement Award at the East Canada Section during the May 2023 AGM. Erica, this Chapter has been enriched with your dedication, caring and contributions over these years and we thank you for all that you do (even though I'm sure you do much more than any of us actually knows about)! You are so deserving of this award.

Girls Can Fly 2023 at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre was held May 13, 2023. It was another huge team success! A big Thank You to all that helped in the planning (April planning meeting) and those members able to come out and spend time at the exhibit table.

Executive News! In March of 2023 we had a change to our Executive Committee - Ashley has taken over duties as the WOTG Chair and Alysha has stepped into the Secretary position. Congratulations ladies! We all look forward to working with you! A massive thank you to Erica for all of her hard work and dedication to the Chapter over the years!!

Another fun night was had on March 20, 2023 during our virtual Games night!

On February 25, 2023 the Chapter's AGM at WWFC was held at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre

Strike!! Lots of laughs were had as Members enjoyed playing 5-pin bowling at Victoria Bowling. We had a terrific turnout on the evening of Saturday, January 28, 2023.

If you are looking for information about upcoming events and activities, check us out on Facebook and Instagram.

If you would like to receive our Chapter Newsletter, send us a note at and we will put you

on the list!

We love to celebrate... YOU!  It doesn't take an event as monumental as a flight test to warrant a celebration (although

those are amazing to celebrate!). If you landed for the first time by yourself ... solo flying ... if you nailed a cross country

within 2 minutes of your planned time... if you improved your "Met" section practice exam by 2% ... if you got an interview

with a company and you're looking for support.. whatever it is, let us know so we can celebrate and send encouragement!

Do you have an incredible photo you want to share? Send in your, photos, your milestones and celebrations big and small to and let us cheer along with you!

While we continue to grow we welcome the input of all of our members. We would love to hear from you with any

suggestions you may have.

Up Coming Events:

We do our best to meet regularly the last Monday evening of each month. We occasionally get together for an in-person walkabout. Keep an eye on emails, and Facebook and Instagram posts for announcements of events. Do you have an idea for a fun activity, aviation related or just for social comradery? Let us know. We would love to hear from you!
