CHAPTER NEWS

Girls Can Fly 2023 at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre was held May 13, 2023. It was another huge team success! A big Thank You to all that helped in the planning (April planning meeting) and those members able to come out and spend time at the exhibit table.

Executive News! We have had a change to our Executive Committee - Ashley has taken over duties as the WOTG Chair and Alysha has stepped into the Secretary position. Congratulations ladies! We all look forward to working with you! A massive thank you to Erica for all of her hard work and dedication to the Chapter over the years!!

Big Congrats to our members who have new jobs, recently graduated, nailed those first solos and earned those ratings!! You rock!!

Another fun night was had on March 20, 2023 during our virtual Games night!

On February 25, 2023 the Chapter's AGM at WWFC was held at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre

WELCOME NEW MEMBERS ... We are thrilled to welcome the 13 new members who chose to join the Waterloo On the Grand Chapter of the 99s throughout this past year!!

While we continue to grow we welcome the input of all of our members. We would love to hear from you with any suggestions you may have.

Strike!! Lots of laughs were had as Members enjoyed playing 5-pin bowling at Victoria Bowling. We had a terrific turnout on the evening of Saturday, January 28, 2023.

2022 recap:

A beautiful, if not chilly, evening stroll was enjoyed at the Wonders of Winter on December 17, 2022.

Several members were able to get together on November 25, 2022 to enjoy an evening at St. Jacobs Sparkles!

It was a fun evening chatting, looking at beautiful lights and enjoying marshmallows over an open fire!

On October 17, 2022 we enjoyed our annual Fall Meet and Greet at Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre. We discussed leadership roles, got a wonderful overview of the 99s Professional Pilot Leadership Program (PPLI) for Commercial Pilots, found out about the ins and outs of scholarship offerings, and a fun overview of aircraft ownership. Thank you Heather, Micheline, Contessa and Gayle for sharing your experiences and encouragement. We met many new friends

and members during this fun evening!

We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU! to Lost Aviator Coffee Co. for their support of our October 17, 2022

Meet and Greet.  Visit their Coffee Bar and Roastery at 404 York Road in Guelph or check out their website www.lostaviatorcoffee.com

WOTG members enjoyed delicious treats at our July 18, 2022 get together at Sweet Caroline's Ice Cream & Treats

Thank you to Holly-Marie Conway for her talk on virtual impressions on June 13, 2022.

Top Gun: Maverick! We had a fun night out in June meeting at the theatre!

We had wonderful time participating in Girls Can Fly 2022 (May 14). Thank you! to our Chapter member and non-Chapter

members who helped in the planning and collaboration of our activity table. It was an exciting day filled with lots of smiling faces!

The WOTG Chapter's Annual General Meeting was held on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

A huge Thank You! to Mike and Dayna of Skies Magazine who joined us February 10, 2022 to share their passion for aviation and giving us the inside scoop of how they create their incredible content.

If you are looking for information about upcoming events and activities, check us out on Facebook and Instagram.

If you would like to receive our Chapter Newsletter, send us a note at waterloogrand@gmail.com and we will put you

on the list!

We love to celebrate... YOU! * It doesn't take an event as monumental as a flight test to warrant a celebration (although those are amazing to celebrate!). If you landed for the first time by yourself ... solo flying ... if you nailed a cross country within 2 minutes of your planned time... if you improved your "Met" section practice exam by 2%

... if you got an interview with a company and you're looking for support.. whatever it is, let us know so we can celebrate and send encouragement! Do you have an incredible photo you want to share? Send in your, photos, your milestones and celebrations big and small to waterloogrand@gmail.com and let us cheer along with you!

We are delighted to introduce our sponsor, Faby of Fabiola Graphic and Web Designer! Faby is a local artist and entrepreneur who has been supporting us with our swag! Check out samples of her work at www.faby.ca

Up Coming Events

We do our best to meet regularly the last Monday evening of each month. We occasionally get together for an in-person walkabout. Keep an eye on emails, and Facebook and Instagram posts for announcements of events. Do you have an idea for a fun activity, aviation related or just for social comradery? Let us know. We would love to hear from you!
